September, 2009: New York City is awarded a grant under the “Strengthening Communities Fund” of ARRA for the Human Services Data Project.
2010: The HSData workgroup expects to:
Complete a scan of similar and complementary efforts related to shared measurement approaches and scalable methodologies to analyze nonprofit financials
Conduct outreach to nonprofit providers, funders, researchers, and other stakeholders in targeted human service sub-sectors to begin the process of defining a standard taxonomy of performance measures
Produce a draft taxonomy for a select number of human service sub-sectors for public comment
2011: Expected work:
Finalize standard taxonomy v1.0
Develop technology to facilitate simple exchange of information adhering to standard taxonomy
